Founder, Cushty Stays
"I built Cushty Stays for landlords who've worked hard to acquire quality assets — and want a management partner who treats them accordingly."
I've spent the past four years working across property sourcing and deal brokering — originating and placing over 100 deals, building a network of investors and landlords, and developing a close understanding of how London's short let property market actually operates at ground level.
That background gave me something most short-let operators don't have: a genuine feel for asset quality, realistic yield analysis, and what a landlord actually needs from a management partner versus what they're typically sold. I've seen how deals get structured, how projections get inflated, and what separates a well-run property from a reactive one.
I'm not someone who scaled quickly by saying yes to everything. I focused on understanding the mechanics of short-let management properly before building anything — the compliance requirements, the guest sourcing, the operational detail that matters. Cushty Stays is the result of that. A deliberately focused operation, built around a small number of well-managed Zone 1 and 2 London properties.
"I'm not interested in managing as many properties as possible. I'm interested in managing them well."
— Harry, Founder · Cushty Stays
What you can expect
A Zone 1 or 2 London property doesn't end up in your hands by accident — whether it took one generation to acquire or several. The people who own them tend to be careful about who they trust with it. So am I.
The short-let management market has a credibility problem. Projections get inflated to win contracts. Properties get onboarded faster than the operator can properly service them. Communication drops off once the agreement is signed.
We don't operate that way. Our process is slower, more considered, and more selective — because the alternative isn't growth, it's the kind of reputation that takes years to rebuild.
The short-let management market in London is crowded, and largely interchangeable. Most operators offer the same services, make the same promises, and prioritise volume over everything else. Very few are genuinely selective about the properties they take on or the standard to which they run them.
Cushty Stays was built with a clear brief: Zone 1 and 2 London, a controlled number of properties, and a standard of management that reflects the quality of the assets we're trusted with. That's it. No plans to expand into every borough. No pressure to scale quickly. Just a well-run, focused operation.
My background in property sourcing — placing over 100 deals across London — meant I understood what landlords actually want from a management arrangement before I built one. Not projections designed to win the contract. Not a management company that stops answering once the agreement is signed. Something straightforwardly better.
